  Dear Old Ealonians and Friends

Welcome to the Old Ealonians’ website.

This site is for former pupils of Ealing County School for Boys, Ealing Grammar School for Boys and Ealing Green High School and for those who may be interested in those schools, which occupied the building on the Green, at Ealing, between 1913 and 1992.

Members of the Association met in November for lunch at the Pillars Restaurant, which is part of the Catering School at the West London University, who now occupy the site of our old school, on the Green Ealing.

Photos are shown in the section that is located in OE News

Visitors may contact me, the Editor, to post news, recollections of their time at the school and to comment or raise queries.

Members of the Old Ealonians’ Association are able to keep  up with details of current and planned social events being run by the Association.

Contact details of members of the committee are available on the ‘Contact Us’ page and the Editor’s email address is shown on this page.

Many thanks to those of you who have submitted material for inclusion on the website.  I has been a pleasure being in contact with you and your recollections and photos bring this website to life and bring back memories to those who visit the site.

If others would like to comment on any of these matters or contribute your own observations and recollections of life at the school, please do not hesitate to make contact.

Mags Drummond is seeking information about her Father  Irving Graham Yates

Irving lived with his mother, Katie Yates, and siblings Joan, Jack, Frederick and Henrietta at 104 Warwick Road, Ealing W5.

He went to school in Ealing in the twenties and thirties & may have gone to ‘Ealing Central School’, which she understands later became Walpole Grammar, or to Ealing County School for Boys.

The photo, from around 1934, shows him wearing a blazer with a badge which seems to say ‘E S with a small C in between’.

Could be the school badge from this era?

Her Father was an accomplished swimmer and diver at the Ealing Swimming Club, so it’s also possible this could be a blazer from there. The photo shows him being awarded a medal by the then Mayor and Mayoress.

If you have any information, please let me know and I will pass it on.
